Every day I say I am going to do it.
Every day I don’t
Just because we are at liberty to eat something while practicing this wonderful keto lifestyle, doesn’t mean that everything we eat is healthy for us individually.
Each of us have completely different micro biomes inside in our gut. In our gut we have 3 hundred trillion bacteria, that’s more cells than we have in our entire body. My gut micro biome is completely different from yours because we are bioindividuals, and what may work for you, may not work for me.

Since our micro biome has been linked to everything from heart disease to mental health issues, we have to do all we can to maintain it’s health and keep our gut flora balanced.
What is my destructive obsession? Dairy.

I love it, and I eat a lot of it. Heavy whipping cream in my coffee 2 times a day, butter, on almost everything the goes in my mouth, butter is my favorite way to meet my fat MACRO. And I dare you to tell me what food doesn’t taste better without some kind of cheese?
Cutting dairy might be some sort of human rights violation, but I’m going to do it.
I have a long history of sinus dripping, bloating, and it seems I have reached a weight plateau, and I still have 10 more lbs to lose
It’s as if each pound has claimed ‘squatters rights’ around my middle aged middle parts, and refuse to go anywhere no matter what I do. But I haven’t tried eliminating dairy from my keto diet.

For example, just last night I indulged in my Enchanted brand Chocolate and Peanut butter ice cream. being well within my MACROS, I sat and ate the whole pint last night while marathoning The Queens Gambit on Netflix (very highly recommended).
This morning when I woke up, my hands were swollen, my sinuses were acting up, and I felt like I had a bad hangover. It does this every time, I KNOW it does, but I still keep eating it because my whacked out reasoning keeps telling me, ‘but it’s keto, it’s ok’.
Some people can have dairy without any reactions, but maybe you might want to consider the fact that you are having reactions to dairy but don’t realize it, or haven’t made the connection yet. Dairy is one of the most inflammatory foods that we eat, and inflammation keeps us from losing weight, especially around our middle. Hmmm……

If you are at a weight plateau, experiencing gas, bloating or swelling, just consider eliminating diary.
I Think this morning when I got up and felt like I’d consumed an entire bottle of Titos vodka (no, I didn’t), I made my decision to go off dairy almost completely for 3 weeks and hope I don’t die.

My only exception will be parmesan cheese, bc it is fermented and contains lactic-acid bacteria that can create gut-healthy probiotics. Another diary product I will not completely eliminate is fermented dairy, such as home made yogurt because eating fermented milk products increased gut production of butyrate, which is known to help gut health.
So this will make it a little bit easier.
My next blog will be:
1. What I did to eliminate dairy
2. The products that I found and used that worked for me
3. How eliminating most dairy made me feel
4. Whether I will continue or not and if I will be adding small amounts of dairy back into my diet
So stay tuned!
that’s the balance wheel.
