Family, Friends &Really Good Food
I thought that my first blog would be about my love for really good food, but when I sat down to write, I started to think about all of the reasons I love food. There is of course, the obvious-we all love good food, but then it occurred to me that most of my favorite memories are of family and friends gathered together around the dinner table, laughing, oo’ing and aw’ing over a delicious meal. Food has always been such a huge expression of love in my family.
My Family
I grew up with two grandmothers who cooked very different foods, but both equally amazing cooks. I know everyone says that no one can cool< quite like their mom, but I’m just going to come out and say it .. no one can-really! My sister knows her way around the kitchen blindfolded … she’ s Iron Chef worthy people … There could be cabinets full of the most bizarre ingredients, and she can whip up a meal that could and should be served in a five star restaur

When I met my husband, I discovered the key to his heart was through his tummy-just as my mom always told me it would be With most men! M¥ husband is my biggest supporter and guinea pig, and I think his love for food is one of the things I love most about him. As fate would have it, I soon discovered that Jordan’s family was equally passionate about food!
My Passion
If you love food like we do, then you understand the burning desire for someone else to taste something you can’t get enough of … even if that means one less bite for you. You can’t help but want to share the experience with someone just so you can gush over it together (Yes, I’m saying that eating is an experience)! I certainly have a passion for food, and that passion comes from the people I love most, who inspire me to create.
My mom and Jordan’s mom remind me of Samantha from ‘”Bewitched” -somehow they can host a dinner party for a hundred people, have the kitchen and house immaculate, AND be dressed to the 9 ‘s and be the most welcoming host you’ve ever laid your eyes on … they make it all look effortless which leads me to question-did they really just wiggle their nose and make all of this happen?
When I try to imagine what Jordan must see when I’m in the kitchen trying out new recipes, I think he must must feel like he’s watching an episode of “I Love Lucy.”
My Journey
So, you get it, right? I love food-which leads me into my next point (I promise this will be shorter). I am not that girl who can eat a loaf of bread a day, a carton of ice cream and be a size zero … I’ll actually never be a size zero and today I’m ok with that! My outlook on this keto journey IS simple .. .it’s not a diet, it’s a lifestyle. I believe that taste doesn’t have to be compromised with cooking healthy food (Let’s be real, we can have butter). While weight loss was my initial motivation behind embarking on this keto journey, today I look my best and I feel my best which 1s the icing on the cake (keto icing, that is).
If you’ve made it this far, thank you so much for checking out my blog!
Until next time
Kristin
